HCI Overview


  The study of human-computer interaction (HCI) is presented as a solid and well-defined tool to address issues involving people with disabilities through technology. Thus, since 2012 the “Grupo de Investigación y Desarrollo en Cultura de la Salud” of the Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira hosts in their line of work Motricity, Disability and Rehabilitation developing technological systems and interfaces for health care. The seedbed in HCI born thanks to the convergence between different engineering areas such as bioengineering, computer vision and machine learning with topics of health sciences such as rehabilitation, neuroscience and motricity. Located in “La Unidad de Acción Motora” in Pereira (Colombia), the seed to generate a space for research and development of new interactive hardware-based interfaces that solve needs in the health sector.
